Thoughts
I liked this book more than I expected. The characterization is great, and the novel was more thought provoking than I thought it would be.

Gemina (Illuminae #2)
Short Synopsis
Large corporations plot to get away with mass murder to make profits in space.
Note: I received an arc from the publisher. I read the first half this way, but decided to wait for the release date because so many details were to come. I listened to the second half of this book in audiobook form. Opinions are my own.
Thoughts
The gap between my reading of the first and second half of this book comes down to bad timing more than anything else. I started reading this book right before going on vacation, and a million things started the moment I got back from vacation, so this book sort of fell by the wayside.
Apart from that this was a really fun, suspenseful read.

A Conjuring of Light (Shades of Magic #3)
Short Synopsis
The third book in a trilogy that I cannot write a synopsis of without spoiling books one and two.
Thoughts
I enjoyed this book, but it was a slower read than the previous books. Also, I didn’t get all of the resolution I’d been hoping for. For more of my thoughts on the Shades of Magic series see my series review.

The Nights of Crystallia (Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians #3)
Short Synopsis
Alcatraz fights against the cults of evil librarians that secretly rule the world.
Thoughts
I thought the second book was hilarious, but the third book started to get a little old. I think I would have enjoyed book three more if I hadn’t read them so close together.

Book two gets a 4/5. Book three gets 3/5.

The Robots of Dawn (Robots #3)
Short Synopsis
Bayley must visit a Spacer world to prove a man’s innocence.
Thoughts
I enjoyed this novel and am sad that this seems to be the last book with Baley as the protagonist. However, I think this was my least favorite book in the series. This has a lot to do with the fact that Asimov’s romance writing skills are rather cringe worthy.

The Revealed (The Missing #7)
Short Synopsis
Seventh book in a series about missing children from history.
Thoughts
This series has drawn out a little too long for my tastes. This book was fun, but I won’t be reading the final novel.

I participated in Camp NaNoWriMo in April. Most of the month was spent revising short stories. I wanted to do more editing on one of my novel length project, but at least I met my goal.
I’m planning to participate again in July. As of the moment, my goal is to get a significant portion of the way through the short story I talked about in my Beautiful People for Writers post this past May.

Agree about ACOL. I do wish for some resolutions (actually, I want all my questions answered). I am hoping I’m wrong, but I think she may do some kind of novella or short stories in the future about Kell and Lila’s past. I don’t like the idea, but I will buy them all the same if it ever happens.
I think I stopped reading Margaret Peterson’s The Missing series on the third or fourth book. I had no idea it’s still not completed yet until now. Eight books and two short stories doesn’t seem too much for an MG series, but I lost interest in the story long time ago.

Yes, I would like to know more about Kell and Lila’s past, but don’t know that I would want a whole novella devoted to just that.
I think the Missing series is completed now. I think there is only one more book after where I stopped, but I will not be reading it. I don’t think I’ll read the short stories either.
I’ve almost stopped several times before reaching this book, but have gone back to it at times where I have little else to read.
I don’t love the series, but I don’t hate it either. *shrugs* They’re a way to pass the time. Though, the ability to time travel would be better. 🙂

Eh, if there’s a novella, I would probably buy it if it goes on sale or something. I don’t know, my interest in the series have lessened significantly since ACOL.
Time travel is definitely the reason why I read it. Yep, that is one super-ability I would not mind to have, but I don’t want to deal with the consequences of altering timeline. 😛

Yeah, I don’t know whether I’d care enough to read a novella. Maybe if I’m in the mood for novellas, but other than that, probably not.
I doubt altering the timeline would be as exciting or damaging in real life as fiction makes it out to be. Fiction makes everything more exciting. 🙂 …. Then again, that’s a whole other discussion.

I love books and I love reading but sadly I’ve felt so busy and stressed these last few months that I’ve hardly even opened a book that wasn’t about something school related… I’m trying to get back into the routine and joy of reading so I’m currently read The Fault In Our Stars. I’ve read it so many times but I never get tired of it 🙂
